Our Mission

Through Our Trusted Partners

Ibogaine shows promise in helping people struggling with PTSD, traumatic brain injuries (TBI), depression, and other challenges. Through our trusted partners, The Tabernanthe connects individuals with ibogaine treatment. Our mission is to make ibogaine treatment accessible to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay.

About Us

Rooted in a Personal Journey

Two hands holding a tuft of green grass

The Tabernanthe was founded from a deeply personal journey of healing. After years of struggling with addiction and exhausting conventional approaches, our founder experienced a profound transformation through ibogaine-assisted therapy. That experience inspired a lifelong commitment to helping others discover safe, ethical pathways toward recovery and renewed hope.

From that experience grew a mission to ensure that people seeking healing have access to trusted information, compassionate support, and responsible care. Regardless of financial circumstances, background, or location, we believe every individual deserves the opportunity to explore meaningful healing options, including ibogaine therapy, through a trusted network of providers.

Today, The Tabernanthe brings together clinicians, advocates, researchers, and individuals with lived experience who share a common purpose. Together, we support people navigating addiction, trauma, and those exploring therapy treatments for depression, while providing education and connections to ethical ibogaine-assisted care.

OUR MISSION

Bridging the Gap Between People and Healing

As a religious 501(c)(3) nonprofit, The Tabernanthe is committed to expanding access to trusted care through education, partnerships, and community support. We also help individuals learn about responsible approaches, including microdose ibogaine, while ensuring every decision is informed by trusted guidance and ethical practices.

Rooted in deep respect for the sacred Tabernanthe iboga plant, we honor its cultural heritage while supporting responsible access and education. Whether someone is seeking information about iboga retreat options or exploring other iboga-based healing pathways, our mission is to connect them with compassionate, trusted resources that prioritize safety, dignity, and hope.

How ibogaine treatment works with The Tabernanthe

The Tabernanthe helps veterans and first responders reach ibogaine treatment through independent partner clinics in Mexico. We do not provide the treatment ourselves. Our part is to explain what to expect, help with scholarships and travel, and stay in touch afterward.

Early research on ibogaine treatment is encouraging. A 2024 study in Nature Medicine followed 30 special operations veterans with traumatic brain injury who were treated with ibogaine in Mexico. A month later they reported lower PTSD, depression and anxiety symptoms (read the study). Ibogaine is not right for everyone, so a medical screening comes first.

Whether you served, work as a first responder, or are struggling with PTSD, drugs or alcohol, we're glad to talk. Contact us to find out if ibogaine treatment could be an option for you.
