Ibogaine Integration: A Practical Guide for the Months After
Bringing what you experienced into everyday life.
What integration means
Integration means bringing what you felt and decided during treatment into your everyday life. We think of it as the long, quiet part of recovery. This guide is general information, not medical or mental health advice.
Why integration matters
An intense experience can leave you with a strong sense of what you want to change. But a good insight does not by itself fix a routine, repair a relationship or break a habit. Integration is the work of building daily life around what you learned.
Practices many people find helpful
People use different things. Reflection through journaling, prayer, meditation or quiet time helps some. Talking it through with a counselor, a trusted friend, a faith community or a peer who understands helps others. Regular sleep, meals and movement give the rest a base. It also helps to commit to one or two changes you can keep instead of reinventing your whole life, and to spend time with people you care about and help others where you can. Music, art, walking or working with your hands can give your mind somewhere to rest.
Common challenges
You may feel clear one day and lost the next. Old friends, places or habits can pull you back. You may want to change everything at once, or not know who to talk to. Work or family may push you to just go back to normal.

A simple plan for the first year
- Pick the two or three things you most want to protect, such as health, family, work or faith.
- Name the people you will call and how often you will check in.
- Set a routine for sleep, food, movement and one quiet practice.
- Write down what usually goes wrong and what you will do instead.
- Review the plan each month and change what is not working.
